Huatulco

Located on the Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca, Huatulco boasts 9 spectacular beaches of soft white sands right by the turquoise blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The bays are actually made up of small coves stretching along 26 kilometers of jagged coastline, including 36 white sandy beaches. Sunshine can be expected about 330 days a year allowing for an array of water sports.

Tangolunda Bay is the most developed of the bays and boasts an 18-hole golf course, shopping area and several restaurants. Five lovely beaches round out the attractions.

Oaxacan Cuisine

Huatulco's cuisine is the cuisine of Oaxaca, which is widely regarded as one of Mexico's top regional cuisines. Many dishes tend to be exotic and very tasty. King of Oaxacan food is, of course, the Mole, which reaches its height here in dozens of varieties. Other popular main courses are jerk beef enchiladas served with chilaquiles -tortilla strips and sauce, and wild boars. The seafood is fresh and excellent. The many exotic dishes like iguana or grasshoppers won’t disappoint the truly daring. Other traditional foods include the Tlayuda (a large tortilla with treat tasting toppings) and the Stuffed Pineapple filled with seafood, avocado, mayonnaise and mustard.  You’ll find superior ice cream at places that specialize in exotic regional flavors like Mamey, Rose and Tres Leches; and if you are a coffee lover then you cannot leave without having a delicious cup of Café de Oaxaca.
